6.12.26 Panthers Select Summer Tournament

 Top 5 Pitching Scout Notes

Makenna Elliott | 2027 | RHP

FB: 58.8 mph (Spin: 910 rpm, Ext: 5.2 ft)
CH: 47.0 mph (Spin: 819 rpm, H: -9.0, V: -6.2)

Elliott posted one of the top velocity performances of the event, reaching 58.8 mph while creating a solid 11.8 mph separation on her changeup. The pitch features quality arm-side movement with below-average spin that should allow the ball to tumble effectively as it approaches the plate. Power arm with the ability to challenge hitters while showing developing feel for an effective off-speed pitch.

MaKenzie Szobocsan | 2028 | RHP

FB: 58.6 mph (Spin: 1075 rpm, Ext: 1.8 ft)
CH: 48.0 mph (Spin: 1094 rpm, H: 1.6, V: 4.8)

Szobocsan showcased one of the stronger velocity and spin combinations at the event. The fastball's 1075 rpm spin rate gives the pitch solid life through the zone, helping it play above its radar-gun reading. Her changeup maintains nearly an 11 mph velocity differential and complements the fastball well. Athletic arm with a strong foundation and continued upside.

Ella Honaker | 2027 | RHP

FB: 57.2 mph (Spin: 800 rpm, Ext: 1.7 ft)
CH: 35.5 mph (Spin: 1071 rpm, H: 4.1, V: 10.4)

Honaker generated one of the largest velocity separations of the showcase, creating a massive 21.7 mph difference between her fastball and changeup. That dramatic speed differential gives hitters a significantly different look and creates deception. Advanced understanding of changing speeds and disrupting timing. The ability to throw an off-speed pitch this much slower than the fastball is a valuable weapon.

Maddy Sowers | 2028 | RHP

FB: 57.0 mph (Spin: 1246 rpm, Ext: 1.5 ft)
