Top 10 High School Rankings - w/o 4/14/2024

BTS Top 10 (as of 4/14/24)

1.) Seneca Valley (8-0) Previous Rank: 1

Seneca Valley and Lexie Hames (BTS #1 returning player in 6A) continue to dominate the opposition. With two more wins over the past week, including a win over Hempfield Area in a rematch of last year’s WPIAL championship, they are now 8-0 and have outscored opponents 45-6.

2.) Downingtown East (7-0) Previous Rank: 2

Two wins this week moves Downingtown East to a record of 7-0 and they have outscored opponents 51-6.. Rachel Schumann (#2 player in 6A) has been absolutely dominant in  the circle and should be tough to beat. Downingtown East does have a huge matchup this week as they take on rivals Downingtown West in the BTS Game of the Week.

3.) Greencastle-Antrim (7-0) Previous Rank: 4

Greencaste-Antrim moved to 7-0 overall with a big win over defending state champs Northern York this week. They continue to have what may be the best offense in the entire state, scoring a remarkable 91 runs over their 1st 7 games, led by Meadow Gambacurta (#5 player in 5A).

4.) North Penn (7-1) Previous Rank: 3

The defending 2023 6A state champs are loaded with talent again this year, including Gianna Cimino (#7 player in 6A). The Knights have won 6 straight games and look to be a legitimate threat to repeat this season.

5.) Quakertown (6-0) Previous Rank: 10

Two convincing wins (10-0 and 16-0) moved Quakertown to 6-0 on the year. With Ava Beal (#3 player in 6A) and Leah Schwalm (#8 player in 6A) leading the way Quakertown appears ready to make a deep run this season.

6.) Cumberland Valley (5-0) Previous Rank: NR

Cumberland Valley is a new face in the top 10 and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them stick around for a while! The undefeated Eagles squad is as talented and athletic as any team we have seen this year. With Sydney May leading the way from the circle and Emma Morgan, Annika Shearer, and Maddie Martin in the heart of lineup, CV will be a tough opponent for anyone in the state.

7.) Hempfield Area (4-1) Previous Rank: 6

The 2023 state runners up dropped a tight contest to #1 Seneca Valley and defeated Baldwin 11-1 this week. Riley Miller (#4 player in 6A) and the Spartans have been near impossible to score against, surrendering just 6 runs in 5 games.

8.) Carmichaels (5-0) Previous Rank: 8

Bailey Barnyak (#5 player in 1A), Carys McConell (#7 player in 1A), Ali Jacobs (#8 player in 1A), and Katie Waggett (BTS open ID standout) continued to lead a potent Carmichaels squad with the Mikes picking up 2 15-0 wins last week.

9.) Juniata (5-0) Previous Rank: 9

Juniata is looking to make another appearance in the state finals and with Elizabeth Gaisor (#2 player in 3A), leading the way, we wouldn’t bet against them. The Indians improved to 5-0 after 2 convincing wins last week (9-0 and 13-0).

10.) Donegal (8-0) Previous Rank: NR

Another new team in the top 10 rankings, Donegal moved to 8-0 on the season after two convincing wins (10-0 over Cocalico and 17-2 over Octorara). With Bella Mackison (2x 5A Player of the Year and #3 5A returner) leading the way, the Indians have been nothing short of dominant, outscoring opponents 116-18!
