Erie College Exposure Event Scout Notes

January 20th, 2024 Erie, PA-

There was no shortage of talented players at Erie Premier Sports on Jan 20th with participants from State College, PA to Columbus, Ohio in attendance.  Here is a list of who stood out and why from this event:

Gabby Deluca (2025, McDowell High School, Erie, PA)- Gabby displayed a pure, controlled swing at the plate that was able to consistently barrel the softball in her round of BP reaching exit velos around 70mph.  She showed off a 59mph fastball from the rubber which was icing on the cake after what was probably the most impressive part of her day, which was her round of infield.  Deluca has great feet and range and her body stays in sync as she moves into throwing position.  She was 64mph across the infield which to date is the strongest infield arm at any BTS event.

Kayla Bresee (2026, Harborcreek High School, Harborcreek, PA)- Kayla is an explosive athlete in a 5’4” frame.  Bresee started her day running a 3.1 20yd dash which was good enough for best in show.  When hitting,  Kayla demonstrates a slow controlled load that leads to a violent swing generating balls hit distances as far as 205ft.  All of this was impressive, but her attributes behind the dish outshined her ability beside it.  Kayla made every throw from her knees with a consistent overhand velo of 62mph.  Couple that with great hands during the exchange, and Kayla posted some crazy fast pop times.

Addison Lucas (2026, Harborcreek High School, Erie, PA)- Lucas though impressive as a two way player, stands out as a RHP.  Her fastballs were reaching velocities of 62mph and every pitch she threw had 10 plus inches of vertical movement, except her change up, which had almost 11 inches of horizontal movement.  Oh, by the way, her overhand throwing velocity was 61mph and she was 67mph off the bat.  Not a bad day!

Kennedy Stahl-(2025, State College Area High, State College, PA)- 1B/RHP Kennedy Stahl put out a barrage of crushed softballs during her round of BP with her top hit ball carrying 222ft.  She was agile and athletic around first base and finished her day showing her strike throwing ability with a five pitch mix.

Sydney Lutz (2025, Canfield High School, Canfield, OH)-  Lutz displayed her abilities as a well rounded player in all facets.  Sydney put up the second fastest 20 time of the day at 3.2 seconds, the fourth fastest throwing velocity and displayed a very consistent swing that allowed her to hit balls to all parts of the field.

Haleigh Taylor (2026, Hubbard High School, Hubbard, OH)- Taylor showed a lot of athleticism and great footwork around first base, throwing with a quick release. Haleigh ran a 3.4 20 yd. dash, was 55mph overhand and topped out at 58mph from the mound.
