The Big Time 20  (as of 4/28/24)


1.) Seneca Valley (14-0) Previous Rank: 1

Seneca Valley and Lexie Hames (BTS #1 returning player in 6A) put together another 3-0 week, putting up 33 runs across 3 games as they improved their record to 14-0 on the season. A HUGE matchup with Hempfield Area looms ahead later this week.

2.) Cumberland Valley (11-0) Previous Rank: 2

Cumberland Valley picked up 3 more wins last week, outscoring opponents 34-4 as they improved to 11-0 on the season. With a lineup full of big time hitters, and Sydney May in the circle, the Eagles will be a tough squad to beat!

3.) Downingtown West (14-0) Previous Rank: 3

The Whippets rattled off 3 more wins last week, scoring 35 and surrendering only 4. Addy Carter continues to be a force from the circle and the Whippets are red hot!


4.) Quakertown (10-0) Previous Rank: 4

The Panthers added 3 to the win column last week, and as has been the case all season, they hammered the ball in the process. Quakertown put up 41 runs across 3 games. Ava Beal (#3 player in 6A) and Leah Schwalm (#8 player in 6A) continue to be a dynamic duo, causing nightmares for opposing pitchers.


5.) Juniata (13-0) Previous Rank: 5

It was a 4 win week for the Indians, all in dominant fashion, as they had wins of 18-0, 15-0, 24-3, and 11-0. Elizabeth Gaisior (BTS Top 60)  has been and will continue to be one of the top pitchers in the state, and if she is getting this type of run support on a regular basis, Juniata will be a tough team for anyone to take down. 


6.) Hempfield Area (12-1) Previous Rank: 7 

Riley Miller (#4 player in 6A) and the Spartans have been on an absolute roll since suffering an early season loss to Seneca Valley. Hempfield Area won 4 games last week, including a big win over a talented Elizabeth Forward squad by a score of 2-1. The Spartans have a shot at revenge later this week as they take on #1 Seneca Valley..


7.) Downingtown East (12-1) Previous Rank: 6 

Rachel Schumann and the Cougars are another squad who have been rolling after an early season defeat, winning 6 consecutive games (including 4 last week) since losing to rivals Downingtown West 1-0. The Cougars outscored their opponents 38-4 across 4 games last week.


 8.) North Penn (13-2) Previous Rank: 9

Gianna Cimino (#7 player in 6A) and the defending state champs bounced back after a tough 2-0 loss to Neshaminy by rattling off 5 straight wins, including 4 last week, one of which was a HUGE 1-0 win over a very good Council Rock South squad..


9.) Neshannock (13-0) Previous Rank: 11 

If we had to choose one word to describe Neshannock’s performance to this point of the season it would be DOMINANT! Featuring a roster loaded with talent (featuring Addy Frye, Jaidon Nogay, and Gabby Quinn - all BTS Top 60 athletes), the Lancers have outscored opponents 148-3!! After making a run to the PIAA state semifinals last season, Neshannock is looking to make another deep run in 2024.


10.) Blue Mountain (15-1) Previous Rank: NR

The Eagles and Marla Freiwald (BTS Top 60) have won 10 in a row since a loss to Pine Grove in early April. Blue Mountain 3 more wins this past week, including a revenge win over a very talented Pine Grove squad by a score of 8-3.
